Birthday Love

Remember when you were a child and the only day of the year that was better than Christmas was your birthday? How each candle on the cake was a true sign of your getting to be a big person?

How is it that after the age of 30, the candles represent some dark hole of depression. Further down the tunnel you travel with each wax piece affixed to your only source of escape from the turning of the chronological clock, your cake.

Alright, alright...I'm a brat today because the girl in this picture is light years away from hating "her special day" and actually enjoys the years that accumulate on her not so ancient frame! She truly is the oldest teenager on the face of the earth! I have made note of said attitude and am going to strap on a new one when it's my time. Um, and by the way, that is like...way, way far away! :) Big peoples unite and enjoy the gifts of being smarter, wiser and better!

It is not the years in your life but the life your years that counts. ~Adlai Stevenson
